Youths Attack A Catholic Church In Niger State

Some youths were said to have attacked a Catholic church in Niger state on Friday, with the excuse that ‘Friday belongs to them’. According to Daily Post, the youths laid siege on St. Philip’s Catholic Parish, Baki Iku, not so far from Zuma Rock in the state, and eyewitnesses reported that the Catholics had gone to church for prayers when the incident occurred.

Muslim youths reportedly carried out said act after the Jumat prayer. Sources say the church’s security man was beaten to a pulp.

 It was gathered that the Muslims laid claim on Friday as their day of worship, noting that the Christians were only allowed to worship on Sundays after which they (Muslims) destroyed the church’s properties.

A report by the New Telegraph says there are fears within the APC that a mass defection of some top members of the party might be looming. According to the report, many of the APC leaders are worried that the party might be going the way of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the days of former President Goodluck Jonathan.

Suspected Fulani herdsmen have attacked Niger state

A bloody clash between suspected Fulani Herdsmen and Gbagyi communities in Niger state has led to the death of about 11 persons.

It was gathered that the incident happened during the Eid-El- Fitri celebration. Four persons were reportedly killed in Lamba, Paikoro local government, while another seven were hacked down during another fiasco between the same ethnic people in Barakuta in Boss local government area of the state.

FG Talks Strike With PENGASSAN

The Federal government of Nigeria led by the Minister of Labor, Chris Ngige, today began talks with leaders of the Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria, PENGASSAN, to end their five day strike action. According to both parties, the dialogue have so far been satisfactory...

            NUPENG however says the strike will still continue until all issues that led to the call for the strike action is adequately addressed. Among the grievance of the oil workers include; staff redundancy and collective bargaining. Speaking after the meeting which lasted over six hours at the Federal Ministry of Labor, the Minister of state for Petroleum Resources, Ibe Kachikwu, said

"The meetings were collaborative. They were deliberate, they were frank and solution seeking. In most of the key areas, we had a good collaborative landing@he said Minister of Labor, Chris Ngige, said the only issue outstanding at the moment is the issue of unemployment in the sector "We only have one issue outstanding and that is unemployment. and that matter will be addressed tomorrow because the IOCs are not here.

The ongoing final match between Portugal and France is really full of hopes, sadly the Portuguese side faced a bad situation, which has to do with their main Man (Ronaldo). A bad knee tackle from Payet sends ronaldo to the ground. After treatment,  Ronaldo limps back to the pitch only for him to ask to be sobbed, a situation which leaves Ronaldo in tears. He was replaced with Ricardo Quaresma.
