Things took a new turn as former first lady Dame Patience Jonathan made claims
that only three out of the five accounts belong to her, the other two belong to her late mom.
Charles Ogboli, the counsel to the former First Lady, has said that two of the accounts belonged to Mrs Jonathan's late mother, Madam Charity Fyneface Oba. He also admitted that only 3 of the 5 accounts in dispute could be traced to the ex-First Lady and her mum.
Also, according to The Nation, there were indications yesterday that some senators of the PDP held a meeting on Thursday, where they vowed to back the former First Lady in her suit against EFCC, over the freezing of about $20m in her accounts.
It was also gathered that Mrs. Jonathan was in Abuja where she was strategising on how to win her case. Ogboli spoke on the Channels Television discussion programme, Sunrise. He said: "The First Lady did not hold five accounts. They are three accounts.
The First Lady was the signatory of one account and the mother was a signatory to the other two accounts." He maintained that the former First Lady had protested between 2013 and 2014 against the use of unknown companies to open accounts for her by the former S.A to GEJ, Mr. Dudafa."...
